Keep The Instructions For Your Film
Start with the product name and written handover guidance. Different film systems have different requirements, including when the first wash is appropriate. Keep the installation date and any warranty documents together so they are easy to find.
Do not substitute advice for another film simply because the products look similar. Ask the installer when something is unclear.
Make Washing Deliberate
XPEL’s care guidance recommends prompt attention to contamination and warns against directing high-pressure water near film edges. Follow the instructions for your exact product, including approved cleaners and the initial waiting period after installation.
A useful routine begins before washing: identify the products you will use, read their directions and check that they are suitable for the finish. If somebody else washes the car, pass on the relevant guidance.
Notice Changes Without Experimenting
If you see lifting, a stubborn mark or an unfamiliar change in the surface, take a clear photograph and contact the installer. Note when it appeared and what care products were used. This gives the inspection a better starting point.
Trying several treatments at once makes it harder to understand the cause. Avoid picking at edges or escalating to abrasive or aggressive methods without product-specific advice.
Keep Aftercare Connected
Follow the inspection schedule supplied with the installation. The appointment is an opportunity to discuss actual use of the car and adjust the routine where appropriate.
Bring any observations, even if they seem small. Preservation works best when care is continuous and the next step is clear.
Keep three things: the material name, its care instructions and a contact for questions. They are part of the protection.
