XPEL Paint Protection Film Warranty

This page explains EA Detailer Pte Ltd’s (EAD) XPEL paint protection film warranty in Singapore, including five-year product and workmanship cover, removal, visual inspection and claims.

1. Warranty period and scope

EA Detailer Pte Ltd (“EAD”) provides five years of product and installation workmanship coverage for XPEL clear and matte paint protection film supplied and installed by EAD, starting from the installation completion date on your invoice or warranty certificate. Coverage applies to the film and surfaces recorded in that document. Colour PPF, coatings and window films have separate product-specific terms. Rectification or replacement continues for the remainder of the original warranty period.

2. What is covered

Subject to inspection, EAD covers peeling, delamination and persistent abnormal hazing arising from defective film or EAD’s installation workmanship under normal automotive use. Installation-related lifting, edge separation and bubbling are covered where attributable to workmanship rather than subsequent damage or improper care. Temporary moisture, installation gel and curing marks are assessed separately and are not automatically defects.

3. Your warranty remedy

For a covered defect, EAD will rectify the installation or replace the affected film section without charging for the film, removal or reinstallation labour required for that remedy. Replacement is limited to the affected area unless a wider replacement is needed to resolve the defect. PPF is a sacrificial protective layer; this warranty does not insure the vehicle’s underlying paint or bodywork.

4. Separate XPEL manufacturer warranty

Any applicable XPEL manufacturer warranty is separate from EAD’s five-year warranty and follows the terms for the exact film series supplied. Its duration, eligibility, exclusions and approval procedure may differ. EAD will assist with eligible manufacturer claims. EAD’s own covered workmanship claims do not depend on approval of a manufacturer claim.

5. Free removal within the warranty period

At your request, EAD will remove film installed by EAD within the valid five-year warranty period without charging for the removal service itself. This excludes panel beating, dent repair, repainting, paint correction and other restoration work. Additional work will be explained and quoted for approval before proceeding. Prior repairs, repainting or weak paint adhesion may affect removal; EAD will explain identified risks before starting. This clause does not exclude responsibility for damage caused by EAD’s failure to exercise reasonable care. Removal does not create a right to a refund or free replacement unless the film has a covered defect.

6. What is not covered

Coverage does not extend to damage caused by collisions, stone or road-debris impacts, vandalism, cuts, abrasion, dents or normal wear; stains, water spots, bird droppings or chemical contamination not resulting from a covered defect; inappropriate cleaners, pressure washing directed at edges, abrasive washing or improper handling; heat or fire damage; subsequent body repairs, modifications, third-party removal or reinstallation; or pre-existing paint and body defects. An exclusion applies only to the damage or area affected by that cause. Hydrophobic performance and self-healing are subject to the film’s specifications. They do not mean all marks will disappear or that the film is maintenance-free.

7. Third-Party Coating Disclaimer

The use of any ceramic coating, sealant, cleaner or other chemical product not specifically approved in writing by EAD for the installed film may affect its performance and appearance. Potential effects include discolouration, fading, uneven coating deposits or high and low spots, and surface micro-pitting, sometimes described as “TPU popping”.

Damage or changes resulting from the application, chemical interaction or removal of non-approved third-party products are not manufacturing defects and are excluded from EAD’s warranty to the extent attributable to those products. Compatibility with other manufacturers’ products is not guaranteed.

Contact EAD before applying any additional coating or chemical treatment. EAD’s approval does not amend or extend XPEL’s separate manufacturer warranty, which remains subject to its own product-specific terms. This exclusion does not affect unrelated covered defects or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Visual Inspection and Installation Acceptance

Paint protection film is a flexible protective material applied over the vehicle’s existing paintwork and contours. Although EAD strives for a high-quality finish, PPF installation does not guarantee a completely texture-free or microscopically flawless surface.

For assessing overall cosmetic appearance, EAD uses a normal viewing distance of approximately 3–6 feet (0.9–1.8 metres) under ordinary ambient daylight or evenly distributed lighting, with the vehicle clean and dry. Magnification, extreme close-up inspection or concentrated inspection lights may reveal minor characteristics that are not representative of normal viewing conditions.

Minor cosmetic characteristics

Slight surface texture, faint orange peel, isolated minute inclusions or subtle application marks may be considered acceptable where they:

  • Are not readily noticeable under the viewing conditions above.
  • Do not compromise adhesion, durability or protective performance.
  • Remain consistent with the film manufacturer’s product specifications.

Temporary installation moisture or curing marks will be reassessed after the appropriate curing period. Stretch marks, silvering and contamination are assessed individually; they are not automatically accepted as normal.

Issues requiring assessment and rectification

The viewing-distance guideline does not excuse defective workmanship. EAD will assess concerns including:

  • Persistent lifting edges, separation or installation-related bubbling.
  • Prominent or clustered contamination beneath the film.
  • Jagged, poorly aligned or inappropriate cuts.
  • Persistent fingerprints or adhesive distortion caused during installation.
  • Excessive stretch marks, silvering or other conspicuous installation defects.

A defect affecting adhesion, protection or the underlying paint remains subject to assessment regardless of viewing distance. Where a covered product or workmanship defect is confirmed, EAD will provide the applicable warranty remedy.

This guideline does not override the film manufacturer’s requirements, EAD’s expressly agreed installation scope or the customer’s statutory rights.

9. Care and inspection

Follow EAD’s handover and film-specific care instructions. During initial curing, monitor bubbles and edges and contact EAD if they persist or worsen. Avoid automated brush washes and aggressive cleaning. Return for the recommended first inspection and arrange ongoing checks as advised. Buying an EAD conservation package is not a condition of this warranty. Missed maintenance does not automatically cancel coverage; damage attributable to improper care may be excluded.

10. Making a claim

Contact enquiry@eadetailer.com or +65 6917 8396 with your vehicle registration, invoice or warranty details, installation date, photographs and a description of the issue. Notify EAD promptly and avoid third-party repair of the affected area before inspection, where reasonably practicable. EAD will inspect and explain its assessment, proposed remedy and any excluded work. Missing paperwork does not prevent EAD from checking its installation records. 11. Ownership changes and customer rights

For a vehicle ownership change, contact EAD to request written confirmation of any remaining EAD coverage. A manufacturer warranty’s transfer rules are determined separately by XPEL. These terms are governed by Singapore law and do not exclude or restrict rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Existing installations remain subject to the terms issued when purchased; these terms do not retrospectively reduce those rights.

Frequently asked questions

How long is EAD’s XPEL PPF warranty?

EAD provides five years of product and installation workmanship coverage for the XPEL clear and matte PPF supplied and installed by EAD, subject to these terms. Any separate XPEL manufacturer warranty follows the exact product’s applicable conditions.

Is PPF removal free during the warranty period?

EAD removes its installed film without a removal-service charge within the valid five-year period. Panel beating, dent repair, repainting and other restoration work are separate. Removal alone does not entitle the customer to a refund or replacement.

Can another coating be applied over the film?

Contact EAD for written compatibility approval first. Damage attributable to a non-approved third-party product is excluded; unrelated covered defects remain subject to assessment.

Does the viewing-distance guideline excuse lifting edges?

No. The visual guideline concerns minor cosmetic characteristics. Defects affecting adhesion, protection or underlying paint are assessed regardless of viewing distance.
